Permanent manhole covers are not usually installed until near the end of the construction phase in order to prevent damage to the permanent covers and pipes. Until this time the open access hole (void) presents a hazard to site personnel and vehicles.

The standard form of covering access holes has included the use of pallets, sheets of plywood or heavy metal plates which can only be placed/removed mechanically. These types of covering are easily dislodged or damaged creating working site hazards.
Voidex is a unique, lightweight solution designed for a single person to use and can be locked in place to prevent it from being dislodged or from unauthorised removal. Designed to fit a standard sized manhole (with a 600mm x 600mm aperture) it has a 4 tonne central loading point which enables heavy machinery to drive over it without concern.
