Truss Arm
The Ockwells Truss Arm is a patented system designed as a temporary restraint for Gable Roof Trusses, Spandrel Panels and Hip Trusses during construction. The principal purpose of the Truss Arm is to stabilise the first truss or panel in position so that the following trusses or panels can be installed plumb and braced safely in the correct positions.
The Truss Arm kit consists of a 1800mm long steel tube, a truss saddle, and a wall plate saddle – the latter being used in Hip Truss applications. Both saddles are secured to the tube with swivel couplers which allow the saddles to be moved up and down the tube to the required position for installation.
Gable Truss application is illustrated on the opposite page, with the Hip Truss application featured in the righthand inset image.
Important: Two Truss Arms should be used to secure the truss or panel, one at each end.
